I received a D in AP Calculus for first semester sen. year. i have applied to the uc's and i'm planning to report it sometime this week. so my question is does the letter have to be formal like an appeal letter and what kind of information should it include?

What do you mean by “i’m planning to report it”? Are you planning on contacting the schools in a separate letter than your mid-year report?

Why?

Drop the class. I rather have no Calculus than a D in Calculus.

^^ The D still ends up on your report card. I tried dropping AP Calc just before the first marking period ended, and they said that to me. Just take it and accept the fate. You can get straight A’s the whole second semester, go to your safety for one semester, and then transfer to the school you wanted.

alethiometer: there is no mid-year report for the uc’s. they require a transcript after senior year ends so they don’t know what grades you have.

HSisOverrated: I can’t drop the class.. the semester already ended

Well I’d seriously consider asking it to be dropped or something.

I know some schools offer an “elect fail” policy.

I personally would make up some elaborate excuse as to why the course needs to be dropped…but I don’t have any morals so that’s just me.

XD
