Receiving BHP (Priority) Admission Decision

To all the priority deadline BHP applicants (submitted Oct. 15th and before) - has anyone received any feedback AFTER completing the interview portion, or does anyone know when we should receive admission feedback?

I remember getting an email in which, if I'm not mistaken, I was told that BHP Priority Applicants would be informed of a decision by December 6th. However, after my interview (3-4 weeks ago), I have yet to be contacted with a decision.

Should I have already gotten some form of notification?

I got a call today saying I got in. Don’t know if they’re releasing all the information at once, but just thought you should know. If it helps, I had my interview fairly early so I suppose it would make sense if I got mine earlier than people who had theirs later. Good luck!!

How early did you have your interview?

SoonToBeBroke - did your Mystatus change to show your acceptance by McCombs in general before you found out about BHP?

thegandhi - Saturday, October 26th. Got the email for it on the 24th.

catcat34 - Nope, MyStatus still hasn’t been updated for me. Only indication of acceptance I’ve gotten was a phone call. Unfortunately, I was in a pretty bad reception area when I got it so the only information I got before the call dropped was that I got into UT/BHP.

It looks like the exact same thing happened on my D as SoonToBeBroke. She got a call yesterday (11/26)and was informed that she got into BHP. She was also told that the acceptance status has not been showed on the website, yet and she should get a letter soon.

D completed her application around Oct. 10th and interviewed about Nov. 10th.

Best wishes to all of you who are waiting for the admission decisions!

I just received my phone call today as well! So relieved.

I’m honored to be offered admission into the program, and best of luck to those who are still waiting - I’m sure they will be calling throughout the week.

At what time did they call you?

Around 5 or so in the evening.

It’s the 6th and still no notification for me.

I’d wait out the weekend; I would think you would be contacted, regardless of the decision (accept, reject, defer) around this time.

Worse case, give the admissions office a call on Monday.

Just got deferral letter :(

A rejection letter arrived in my mailbox yesterday. Still aiming for, and confident in, admission to the business school.

Right now, it’s looking like anyone who didn’t get a call recently has either been deferred/rejected.

Sent from my HTC One S using Tapatalk

I’m confused, because I just received a deferral letter, even though I was never even contacted to schedule an interview. Is there a chance that they will interview me later, or are they just essentially delaying my rejection from BHP?
Also, does anyone know what a BHP deferral indicates about my chances for admission to regular Mccombs?

From my understanding, BHP is far more selective than regular McCombs. While McCombs admitted about 1,600 applicants last year, with an average SAT of 1342 and an average ACT of 30, BHP admitted those with much higher scores, their freshman class averaging a 1482 SAT. They admitted only 237 students.

Deferred  Is there anything I can do to help my chances? For example, I was elected as Senior Class President and FBLA President after I submitted my priority application. Also, how many applicants are deferred and how many more applicants will they be accepting?

Just got deferred myself, I was chosen for an interview though. Anyone have any idea how that affects my odds?

Guys, a little common sense goes a long way. First, these numerical questions are things you could easily search via Google; if you can’t find a link that gives you the answer, it’s unlikely anyone here will know. And an interview, even if deferred, obviously won’t adversely affected your chances, unless you showed up after rolling out of bed. If BHP was interested enough to talk to you at least, then McCombs will be interested as well…
