Is it odd or unusual to receive credit for all three science courses as a repeat sophomore? I received credit for all three sciences and I am recommended to take another course on another subject. I would like some insight on how this would be beneficial or detrimental when I apply for university. I am looking at the top 10 in the US.
If you took high- school level sciences, there’s nothing wrong with the school giving you credit for all 3. The problem would be, as you are surmising, how it would look to colleges when you apply and haven’t taken any science for the last 3 years. That WOULD be a problem. There’s no need to repeat classes you’ve taken, but DEFINITLEY take some upper level science. You can take honors classes, AP classes, or electives-- just don’t stop science all together. It’s ok if you don’t take it all 3 remaining years-- but not so ok to never take any more again. It seems very odd that any BS wouldn’t tell you that.
I agree with @Daykidmom It is not unusual, but you should still take some upper level science classes.
