Receiving mail at FSU

I was looking under the FAQs on the Housing site and they list two types of mailing addresses.

One for UPS, FedEx, Florist deliveries etc - which can be send directly to the dorm address
and
One for regular US Mail which needs to be sent to a 5 digit post office box in the Oglesby Union

When do students receive that 5 digit post office number?

Thanks!

I got my number when I went to the postal service place and got the key to my box.

It was also printed at the top of the housing assignment letter. It should say something like FSU Box # or something similar followed by your box number somewhere near the top of the letter.

I see it! Thanks so much :)

Do you find it inconvenient to check your US mail everyday at Oglesby or do you just periodically go look?

It ultimately depends on where your dorm is, but it is right by the food court, so unless you’re eating at the dining halls every meal for every day, getting mail should not be much of an inconvenience.

PO BOX numbers can also be found by logging into blackboard and clicking My Address in the secure apps.

Does Oglesby handle US mail larger packages/boxes since they won’t fit into a po box or do they go directly to the dorm?

Yes, everything sent via USPS goes to the post office in the union. They’ll put a yellow slip in your box, and you just take the slip and a photo ID to the window during their hours to pick up the package/large envelope/etc.
