Receiving Scholarships after Priority Deadline?

I was planning to apply to Miami University-Oxford, but I have obviously not made the priority deadline of Dec. 1. The regular deadline is Feb. 1, but I won’t even bother applying if there is no chance of receiving any merit-based scholarships. Is there a good chance I will receive merit-based scholarship money at this point, or is it too late? My UW GPA is 3.93 with a 31 on the ACT. Thanks.

I would recommend emailing your regional admissions counselor for accurate information. You can find who that is at: http://miamioh.edu/admission/ask-a-counselor/ Good luck!

I have the same question. Please post if you receive an answer from the college.

I was told yes.

Thanks. I hope that is the case because need merit money to make it competitive with instate flagship. OOS daughter will hear on Sunday via email whether or not she gets in. Read somewhere that merit money won’t be discussed in email but will come via snail mail later in the week. Is that everyone’s understanding?

@lotterygirl My son’s early admission letter was dated 12/18 and his merit scholarship letter was dated 12/22. Strangely enough, there was a second admission letter dated 12/20 that my son downloaded as a PDF. It was quite a bit shorter than the 12/18 printed letter, but did include admission to the College of Engineering and Computing.

My son received merit money without having applied early.
