Receiving scores early through a trick?

So, with this method, we should be able to get our scores next week? I didn’t do the writing portion.

Yes. Depending on where you live, a lot of scores will become available on September 30th.

It’s been 6 hours since I took the test but still no scores

Wouldn’t six hours be a little soon? Or, well, a lot soon?

Now, it’s almost seven hours… Still waiting… :)

Six hours would be insane, hahaha.

Wish we knew what they based the upload periods off of though… seems entirely random, possibly based on the speed of the institution getting things in order? Region? No clue…

Can ACT find out if you’re using this trick to see the score early? If so, would they cancel your score or do something?

@humaniters I don’t know but:

 1. They probably can’t.
 2. It’s a glitch in their system.
 3. I doubt they’d care. You’re going to see them eventually and they’ll be exactly the same.

@humanities2014 - Simply put, no. Basically, there is a small time period where your test results are on the server but there is no link to physically view it. I assume they do this so they all scores will get “revealed” on a certain date. However, the link to view the scores is easily obtainable - which is where the glitch comes into play.

I don’t believe they are able to see if the file (aka the .PDF) was accessed. If it’s on their server, it’s fair game to view. Like jtc said, they seemingly don’t care about it at all. I’m sure they’re aware of it, but I doubt they’d go through the hassle of reprogramming everything just to block a user from generating the link to view it.

I’m sure they’ll revamp their site eventually… you’d think, anyway. But it seems like their core website has been the same for years now. As long as their process for generating links to view test scores doesn’t change, this glitch will work for many ACTs to come.

Updated this the other day, also found a cheap deal for a domain!

Redesigned it and also modified the script structure a little bit. Instead of having to copy and paste the same link in each time, there’s a second page that you can bookmark for easy access (which has the testing id as a variable in the url). As long as you’re logged into the ACT website, you should be able to click your bookmark or whatever and then click the button. Seemed a bit easier than having to copy and paste the same exact link each time.

Best guess would be the 30th for the first round of scores to start popping up. Whoever makes the official score topic, please feel free to throw in the link in there somewhere. First post would be great - just would save us from having to reiterate the same thing throughout the topic.

Thanks guys!

Thanks Nspire, I’ll share it with friends.

Thanks Nspire, I will definitely use that link and edit my post when its up.

Awesome, thanks fellas!

So when is the earliest date that we might be able to find out our scores??

Probably the 30th at the absolute earliest… though it’ll probably be a few days after that.

Do you know how long it usually takes for someone from New England to see the score? I guess people from Midwest would get the result first…?

To piggyback in humanties. Does anyone have any idea of southern california?

Thanks!

Gah. I cannot wait. Science will ruin my score. Just know it.

My son’s account is still listed as “registered” - should it have switched to “tested”?

Region seems entirely sporadic. I’ve seen no correlation between a particular region or time period. I’m in the midwest and certainly wasn’t in the “first group” last year.

Haven’t heard of any scores being reported. Possibly tomorrow at midnight for anyone who is lucky and gets mixed in with a potential early group (just a guess though, nothing more).
