Just wanted to let you know that I'm a recent Duke grad willing to offer help on your Why Duke essays as well as any other application questions you might have. I have sat on various student admissions committees and can offer valuable first hand advice on the critical essay and what Duke looks for. I've done this for free in the past, but due to sheer volume of requests, I am charging a small nominal fee (less than twenty dollars). PM for details, even if you're running out of time (I can get your essays back in 24 hours).

I’ve never actually heard of one student admissions committee, not to mention various. But it’s possible that there might be student input to various merit scholarship committees from current student scholars. Judging from the timelines of those scholarships, it seems that their selection process supercedes that of regular admissions and is conducted in parallel with regular admissions. It might be those that the OP is speaking of? But then, it’s hard to imagine being on more than one of those.

Otherwise, I’m very curious to know as the only student program from the admissions office that I’m aware of is admissions ambassadors.
