The College of Business is shifting to a new building (Hughes Hall). They will spend $30 million on the construction.

"The renovation of Hughes Hall will nearly quadruple the College’s physical space. It will contain a computer lab, four board/meeting rooms, six study rooms, a student lounge encircled by faculty offices, a 250-seat auditorium, and nine classrooms of more than 40 seats apiece.

It will have space for a career center and specialized learning laboratories in global business, entrepreneurship and other subjects. A trading floor will be located on the first floor of Hughes Hall, just inside its front entrance."

Amazing time to be at the school – we did not have a separate building for the business school when I was going there.

Good to know that Fordham is trying to expand their architectures for more student/faculty opportunities. They also need to work on their clubs/organization activeness.

I don’t think business school really requires preexisting skills. It’s not like a Philosophy or English class. Most of it is black and white and requires some effort/time/memorization. In order to thrive in Fordham’s core courses, which accounts for half of the curriculum, you need to have a solid foundation and footing as far as your comprehension and writing skills go.

I’ve heard Fordham chooses the classes you take your first semester of Freshman year. Is this true? Is it possible to drop/add new classes for that semester? How many classes do most students take a semester?

Yes, Fordham assigns you to classes first semester of freshman year. On an average, students take 5 classes a semester. If you need to add or drop a course, you would most likely have to speak to your dean about it and he or she may accommodate you request.
