That's something you're gonna have to ask the school, unless someone else here knows the answer.

In order to renew scholarships, we were told that you need to renew the FAFSA. Also, you need to fill out the Pitt financial aid supplemental form again. Additionally, for scholarships in the Engineering School (and perhaps others, but not for general honors college merit scholarhips), you need to fill out a form indicating that you are accepting the money for the upcoming year.

Note: the person I spoke to told me that they might not notice that you neglected to fill out the forms right away, and all that would probably happen would be that they tell you your paperwork is incomplete. But who want to take a chance on losing merit money?

You also have to maintain a certain gpa for scholarship renewal which, I believe, is a 3.0.

Hey pat, do u know anything about there study abroad? I am interested in possibly going to scotland or england or maybe ireland... any ideas?

Oh fisch, Pitt's study abroad program is the best! I spent a semester in Rome and it was amazing.

Start here, their website pretty much explains everything:
http://www.abroad.pitt.edu/

yeah, i was checking that site out, but i couldnt find alot of the pricing.. is the money there just the general tuition plus a few added fees?

If I recall correctly, I believe that it is the same price as normal tuition. You'll have to contact them to make sure, though.

Is pitt really diverse with asians, hispanics, and african-americans? or very much cauccasion?

Pitt is around 80% Caucasian, 10% African-American, 5% Asian, and 2% Hispanic. Around 20% are from out of state, and 2% are international. Pitt has been working towards increasing diversity, which they are accomplishing more each year.

Carnegie Mellon, which borders Pitt and whose students often socialize with Pitt's, is 40% Caucasian, 25% Asian, 5% African-American, and 5% Hispanic. 78% are out of state, and 15% are international.

is there a way u can get microsoft word, microsoft excel ect.. through pitt for free?

Yeah, Pitt has a ton of free software downloads once you connect to their network.

Alright! My Jets just drafted Darrelle Revis out of Pitt!

J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS!

Poor Pitt football fans, their only satisfaction comes during draft day when their players get drafted....haha.... ;)

Give Wanny some time. I think he'll be able to do something with the #8 draft class. And how's that NIT title treating you? Quite impressive.

Given it was a team of 90% sophomore/freshman, that NIT title feels great. Especially because they got rid of that small time coach and hired Huggins.

I don't even care about basketball, anyway.

I hope to God Wanny does something with his recruiting classes. I hope Pitt beat the hell out of Louisville, USF, Rutgers, Michigan State, and Virginia. I want the 100th Backyard Brawl to actually mean something; it deserves better than the craptastic teams Pitt has put out recently.

Pat, I just wanted to say how nice it was of you to post. You've put a lot of time into helping others out. Thanks!

Thanks, 2blue! I think I have a lot of information to offer because I had such a diverse, roller coaster college experience. And it really makes me feel important when people say they chose Pitt based partially on my posts!

hey, how do you connect to the pitt network? do you have to wait until class starts?

and also, can you get antivirus free through pitt as well?

fisch2332, do you have your Pitt email? I believe you can just get the downloads through MyPitt, and an antivirus should be on there as well. Explore your MyPitt and you should be able to find it.

My bro is going to the pitt mba program.. do you know if windows ex is required or can you use windows vista?
