My parents and I were at the campus about a week ago and I wanted to let everyone know that Justin(Candyman) is just as nice and helpful in person as he is on this site. He spent his lunch hour talking to us about Lafayette and why he loves it. He also stood up quite well to my dad the lawyer's questions( more than a million). We left our lunch with a great feel for the school. We also went on Justin's tour of the campus.

I have to say that the school is physically beautiful and the facilities compare well with most of the other campuses we have visited. The dorm that we saw was a typical dorm but Justin's room was immaculate. I was really impressed with how happy all the students seemed to be. They were very friendly to us when we asked a few questions.

What really was one of the highlights of our trip was the info session that was lead by the Dean of Admissions. She was extremely informative and was a great facilitator. The best part of the program was the history professor who spoke to our group. He cut thru the usual stuff I have heard at other schools and gave some unique reasons why he loves Lafayette and why it would be a great place to go to college. After the info session he came over to me and my parents and spent an additional 10 minutes answering more of our questions. He gave me his card and told me to contact him at any time if I had any more questions.

Overall that visit got me excited about applying to Lafayette. It would be a great place to spend four years.

My husband and I graduated from Lafayette 20+ years ago, and we both loved it. We have moved away from the area but try to keep in touch with the school, if anything I think it has only gotten better. The campus has always been well maintained and beautiful. Lafayette has really gotten away from the heavy frat emphasis that existed when we were there, only about 1/3 of kids are Greek now and the school seems to have a lot more social alternatives. Lafayette is definitely on our son's list of favorites, and we haven't pushed him to go there at all. Just asked him to look at it and let him decide from there.

It's a MUCH nicer place than Lehigh! ;-) (All Pards are required to say that!)
