Hello College Confidential,

I just got my letter, however I’m still waiting for quite a few other schools to send their decisions. While I don’t know if I’m for sure attending yet, Bard is definitely up there on my list, so I thought I would do some homework. Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

While I’m planning to major in either Literature or Creative Writing, law school has been in the back of my head for a while now. I’m just wondering if anybody has any information regarding transferring to some of the more prestigious law schools after graduating from Bard. I know Bard has an excellent reputation when it comes to academics, so I’m definitely not questioning that. I just can’t find any facts or figures on their website.

Also, if there is anybody here who has transferred, or knows somebody who transferred to Bard, I’m wondering if you could let me know about that experience. I’m from California and wouldn’t know anybody attending. Will I not have much of a social life for two years, or is finding a niche there pretty simple?

Thanks a lot.

I can’t really answer number 1 for you, but 2 I’ve have plenty of experience with.

A decent amount of my friends are transfers or exchange students. On top of that, my brother is a transfer student here. It seems pretty easy to blend in. You usually bond with other transfers first, because you get here together, but you will also bond with who ever is in your dorm or your classes. Some people find it hard to blend in, but the social life is different than at many colleges so then it really becomes a matter of finding your own niche, which happens pretty easily anyway.

Thank you for your comment, lilygraces, that’s very good to know.
