Also, is the Enrollment Commitment Deposit binding?
Because I want to submit my housing application soon to receive priority, but the brochure says that USC "can offer housing assignments only to certified students. To be certified, you must have submitted your USC Enrollment Commitment Deposit form and the $300 enrollment deposit." However, I want to wait for responses from other colleges before paying the $300 fee, as I am not ready choose my final college yet.......

idno: you can reserve a housing spot, fee is $30 non refundable. We were even advised to do so by the staff at the Explore USC housing presentation.

You don't have to send the Enrollment Commitment since that's binding. USC understands very well that no decisions on enrollment can be made (in general) until fin aid packets are offered, and choices are studied among acceptances from diff colleges.

I visited the admissions center today and they said that newly admitted students should wait until Wednesday or Thursday to log in to the ExploreUSC site. However, I definitely agree with Sequoia about the housing-send in that $30 and an application ASAP!

Vienna: Just turn in your housing application (can be done online at housing.usc.edu) plus the $30. fee so that you can be in system for the dorm of your choice. Don't wait on that, many of last year's admitted students waited until the end of March and did not get what they wanted.

"Living at USC" booklet that came in Admitted folder on page 28 under "Application" states: Freshman may apply for housing once they have been admitted to the University...You may submit a housing application before sending your Enrollment Commitment Deposit form.

I'm a NMF and expect to get the appropriate scholarship. Is it better to sign up for Dean's Halls (Marks, Trojan Housing) or go with Birnkrandt?

Each residence hall has its pluses and minuses. No one is required to live anywhere. Look at some of the past threads with discussions on the different areas to get an idea of where you want to live. (I'm sure I'll end up defending Deans' Halls again in a few weeks...yay)
