Recently got a 5.0

Okay guys, i just got my quarter report card and i got straight-As in 5 AP classes. I’ll probably send it in, but im not sure… I have a pretty strong upward grade trend [3.4, 3.5, 3.9 (uw)] and I want to show penn that i kept improving. what do you guys think? Oh, I applied early, and yeah.

You think huh? Did you just want a pat on the back?

lol... burn...

but yea, should we send 1st quarter grades if they're better?

like... 4.5 -> 4.6-> 4.8 -> 4.9?

ROFL hazmat

...owned.

I'm in a similar situation. I got two Bs last year in History and English and I've never gotten Bs in those classes before, however this year I've been able to get As in both of them so far (in the first quarter). Should I send it in? My GPA in 9th and 10th grade were both rising, but it dropped a little bit in 11th grade, but it's higher as of right now. Is it even worth it?

what the hell hazmat.. do you think you're funny? its a simple question. god damn.. how low can you go to insult people in an anonymous forum? holy hell. get a life.. this is the first time i've ever received a good gpa, and it is senior year -- i meant no pretension, bastard.

^^^^ blue, definately send it and good job on the hard work.

I don't think you know hazmat...he wasn't trying to offend you, it was just a joke. He's a Penn student and he's been a very informative member of this forum so don't take his post the wrong way, k?

KRabs- Definately send it...have good grades ever hurt?

I understand that the actual admissions process doesn't start until late Nov. Our marking period ended this week, and we probably won't be getting our report cards for another 2 weeks or so, and I feel as though that's too late anyway.

Ok....so you don't appreciate my sense of humor. Of course you will want to forward ANY information to Penn that night help them evaluate you in an improved light. Yes, your amazing scores should be sent. Any other achievements.....sports, community service, academic contests, anything that can help them know you better. I wish you the best of luck.

sorry, hazmat. lol you shamed me to remorse . thanks for the responses guys.. lets just put this behind us :)

I just hope you get the fat envelope from The Quaker!

haha fat chance.. that 21% jump up basically put me into an hour long state of depression ;)

How many BlueMice do you think we have here? I'll bet you are the ONLY one! Be positive.....you have a lot to offer. What state are you from?

speaking of sending in new info...i started a thread asking about that and someone said if i sent it in i could be pushed back into the late early app pool...i didnt even know there was division in the early app pool...is this true..does anyone know?

hahaha
im from cali.. so cal pride : P

Well there 'ya go. BlueMice from CA.....haven't met any. I suppose you'll start a club for BlueMice and maybe a sports event too. Now I am wondering whether you will have a roommate or get put in a single? One thing is clear......you'd better get a nice hat for those cute little ears and a woolly sweater because it is cold here.

yeah ive mentioned this everywhere, but i got bad grades as a frosh/soph, but in the second semester of soph year, i got a 4.9, and i think i can hold it for a while (im a junior) do you think that will hurt or help me? how much worse is rising to a 5 vs. getting a 5 straight through?

blue_mouse, where in so cal are you??

sorry, i just gotta rant a little: jeez, everyone here is so worried about their grades when they're all on a rising trend!! so many people here have straight As, or maybe one or two B's. i hate to be a b*tch about this, but it's just one or two B's!!! some people applying have C's!! i hope that makes you guys feel better, cuz i can assure you that there are soo many people out there who don't have the grades or scores or ECs that you all have. everyone i've seen on the Penn forum is soo damn qualified, if you don't get in, it's just a matter of bad luck, not because of lack on anyone's part. and really, a rising trend in grades is always better than a decreasing trend (duh), and as to having good grades throughout?? well, a rising trend shows that you were willing to work your ass off to improve, showing "hard work and determination" - a great cliched phrase for college essays.

ok, whew, rant done. sorry about that...

haha one or two Bs? try 13 =\
lol and im from from la county kinda.. uhhh not too far from the beaches or the mountains : P

"haha fat chance.. that 21% jump up basically put me into an hour long state of depression"

only an hour long?

i was depressed for like a whole day...i probably still am -_-"

not really depressed though, just really angry that so many freakin' ppl are probably applying ED to penn just cause they think they can "get in easier" when its not their first choice (i.e. my reason)
