Will my admission be rescinded? I got accepted into the Fall term of FSU, when I applied I said that I was going to take Calculus. I already have all my four math credit but I wanted to take Calculus to make my transcript better. I was taking it Florida Virtual School but because of certain issues I lost internet access and had to drop the class. So I will end up with a Withdraw failing on my final transcript. The rest of my grades are A's and B's for my senior Year. I ended up with a 4.2 GPA weighted and 3.8 unweighted. And I'm ranked top 5% of my senior class. What are my chances of getting my admission rescinded? I'm majoring in Biology, if that make any difference in my chances.

Call FSU and let them know about your situation and why it happened. With your scores, it doesn’t look like that was the deciding factor. I think you’ll ultimately be fine.

I was in the same situation as you with AP Calculus AB on FLVS. I’ve always had terrible experiences with FLVS over the years. I was always worrying about my online classes no matter what. In retrospect I would’ve been better off taking dual enrollment classes.

But as Matt said, you should call them and tell them what happened. They told me to send them an email to their undergraduate email address, detailing what happened. It took them a week to reply and they basically said that one bad grade will make no difference, considering your other grades are okay. I think you should be fine, don’t worry about it in the end.

Call Call Call. You are likely OK if you call and alert them, give a full explanation, and be open about what happened. DO NOT WAIT until you get a letter over the summer that they are reevaluating your decision and need an explanation.

Thank you for the replies. I did call on Thursday but I didn’t really explain in detail about my situation I just told them I ended up with a WF(basically an F) on my transcript. And the representative told me that they may rescind my admission. She said when they receive my final transcript they will reevaluate and let me know as soon as they can. Should I call them again and explain in more detail about what happen?

You could call them, but I suggest you also email them: admissions@admin.fsu.edu

If you emailed them they will have your concern on file and you will be able to explain your situation in greater detail. You should tell them about the (ridiculous) FLVS withdrawal policy and that it seemed to be out of your control because you lost internet access. When I called them they said that since AP Calculus AB is one of the most difficult classes, then I would likely not be rescinded. Hopefully it should be the same for a regular Calculus class, good luck.
