The policy for revoking admission says something about a "dramatic" change in curriculum or performance or something ambiguous like that, which tells me nothing. My curriculum has gotten much more difficult, so how much worse can my grades be? I got in early btw. Also, is this a change in weighted or unweighted gpa?

Just try not to get any C’s.

any1 else know anything specific or kno of any1 who got admission taken back

I’ve known friends whose grades dropped from like A- range to low B’s–they were okay, but from JHU… Georgetown, Cornell-ish.

Oh, but I should also mention that during AP crunch time, grades tend to drop anyway as we’re bombarded with practice tests, etc.

A & B’s only. I hear if you drop lower, schools contact you/your counselor.

Both of you said As and Bs only, but I got 1 C last year, so that wouldnt be a change. What is dramatic as far as GPA is concerned, weighted and unweighted?

Anything below straight B’s is problematic. (3.0, core classes)

I think, if there is a huge drop in GPA, then you can be considered in the pool of kids which they would question.

Usually they will send a letter asking you to explain your situation and what happened, and if you have a legit reason, then they accept you.

I would say a huge drop in GPA would be form a 3.8 to a 3.2 or something like that…

My suggestion, JUST KEEP TRYING! there’s no reason for you not to…

While I think it imperative to maintain grades, I have only heard of two legit cases of rescinding admission. One was for the kid getting in partying trouble to the point where he was suspended and that was reported to the school. The other was for plagiarism. And that was to Harvard. This true story - which happened about 4 years ago now - is the story of all stories passed down from class to class as a cautionary tale.

I have written officially about this topic before:
