Anything they couldn't have before: music, movies, games, their own sheets, civies, etc.

LOL.. got it! Great suggestions... who would have ever though my son would want sheets! :P

fitted sheets...with batman or something. lol

Well, pretty much you can't during SAMIs. Yea it says you can't in the CSP, but your bed is always covered so you can have whatever sheets you want.

The fitted sheet over the SAMI bed is a classic...

haaaahaha! that's awesome.

So what you're saying is it's ok not to follow rules as long as you can't tell they're not being followed. Gotcha.

let't not start on that topic..

i see many, MANY rules not being followed every day. from 4 digs to upperclassmen. is it everyone? no. do i feel like sometimes there's a double standard, because we get corrected for not doing something but an upperclassman doesnt? sometimes (and i'm not just talking about 4dig stuff, i'm thinking along the lines of decorum/military) but i do my best, and try to keep my friends/classmates accountable when i can. let it die

Hneedle, on one hand yes, it happens, but that doesn't mean that you should support spreading it or condone those actions. especially on a forum where people are learning about the academy, it's not ok to support actions contrary to what is right, even if they are sometimes accepted due to "group think" or simply b/c "other people do it"

Disagree. I'd much rather portray the Academy and the AF as they really are rather than have candidates show up only to be immediately disappointed by the lack of perfection they expected in every facet of cadet life. The truth, kids, is that you will break the rules. It's impossible not to. You may think I'm exaggerating or being facetious, but you'll see what I mean very quickly after arriving.

haha, yall both spoke the truth. it's not good or right (imo) to condone breaking the rules that are in place. facts are, though, that it happens. i definitely had high standards for the place before i came in, but now realize that what i once thought it would be like is pretty unrealistic.so i agree with you both

we'll agree to disagree. admit that it happens, yes. tell parents to help their kids break the rules: not ok on my watch. if you feel otherwise, thats your perogative. i just wanted it pointed out that just becauise it happens doesn't mean we should aid in it.

So.......I should have my cadet mail back the Hello Kitty sheets?

Ha! JK!!! I sent a LOT of funny, and yummy stuff (all in a box that I painted BLUE) but no sheets! :) I actually didn't even think of sheets but good thing I didn't!
