I would definitely agree with Hornet. Our squad had an interesting recognition. There were a few instances where holes were dug which our squad had to climb out of. In the end, I think my classmates pulled together and most of us truly understood what recognition and the freshman year at USAFA is all about.

So I just took a peaceful stroll around the T-zo around midnight, felt pretty good if you ask me...

Every part of Recognition had an impact on me and my classmates over here in Sijan, failing at one thing or another that first night, I knew I wanted redemption but to claim it for myself would risk the bond we share as a class. Before long into Friday morning, we ALL took that second chance and romped our way through Friday and Saturday, and I could not be more proud... Where we struggled before we became stronger, and although I may have a biased opinion towards my class, I would not have changed a thing about what I just experienced and whom I "sweat", "suffered", and "celebrated" with through the last 3 days, let alone the previous 9 months...

As we finished up our final course and formed up in front of the memorial wall with squadrons 21-24 we were asked to show some motivation because we had finished the courses. Each individual squadron began screaming their squadron chant and we were all competing against each other. Beside me stood a classmate, who alone was chanting "Never Falter, Never Fail..." I joined him, and soon we made a couple more, and within a few seconds, the squadron chants diminished and out came the unified class pride. To me, and many others I have spoken to, it was a pretty powerful and moving point on our wonderful Friday... ;)

The moral, 2013 and beyond, is that no matter what it is that you are doing and no matter what obstacle you may face, one squadron is stronger and louder than one flight, and one "class" is ever more powerful than you and your 30 some squadmates... Keep than in mind, no matter what they tell you, always have class pride, even through basic (which has a very similar story pertaining to our flight and chanting our Flying Tigers chant rather than our flight chant) but I digress...:) More importantly, and you will learn this early on, you will no longer be an individual, you will be just another Basic Cadet and the Cadet Fourth Class Cadet... Do not tread the line of being an individual, you cannot make it. Stand strong with the person on your left and to your right and take pride in every single day you wake up to go to class or go to a training session, because a thousand some of your classmates are doing it with you, pushing through...

Motivate and be motivated, and never quit... Good luck in your preparations, now we wait for your arrival... ;)

thank God thats all over... now for some sleep! (at nearly 4 am... lol)

Sheesh Eagle, I went to bed at 2200 and woke up at 1330. How did you manage to stay up until 0400?!

-now we wait for your arrival...
Well, that sounds a little ominous.
And I have to agree- why would you stay up until 0400?

But of course ominous makes the point stronger?

hooray for sleeping in my bed...
