I'd like to ask my professors who will be writing my recs to do so this week, however I have a few questions regarding the issue.

1.) should they complete them within the upcoming weeks, is it alright that admissions offices would be getting them well before the rest of my application (most not due until march)
2.) Is it possible for me to collect sealed envelopes and send the recomendations with my application?
-Any other issues anyone knows of that I may have please let me know

1) It's fine. When they receive the letters of recomendation they will create a file for you, and as they receive the rest of the application will make sure it stays together. They review the application once all the parts of it are received.

2) They will send out the recomendations on their own, or have one of the offices do it for them.

thanks for the prompt responses, on the return address should I put anything to notify that it is in reference to my app, or is it sufficient to just put my school address.

Putting identifying information (beyond your return address) on the envelope would probably not be worthwhile, as the envelopes are likely discarded.

Many (all?) schools have recommendation forms, which you hand to the prof with your identifying information filled out. along with the pre-stamped envelope. The prof writes his rec on that form or attaches his rec to the form. That is the best way to identify you. If a school has no rec form, I suggest you use the Common App rec form, fill out your identifying information and give it to the prof with that school's envelope.

Put the school's app deadline lightly in pencil on the envelope you give to the prof. He or she may choose to just send it near to the deadline; but if they send it early, the school will open a file for you.
