Recomended SAT II's

Are there any SATII's that UVA admissions preferes? Also, are there any that are generally looked down on? Would you suggest taking two or three?

Im trying to figure out if there are any that I should bump to the top of list, or any that I should forget about now...

Thanks,
Kyle

Engineering wants Math and Physics. Don't know about the other schools. Which are you applying to?

Well, I enjoy politics and law may be in my future, so Arts and Sciences I would guess.

Would a physics/literature split be acceptable, or will UVA want to see a MathII?

I don't think they really care about SAT2's. Take them in whatever you are good at.

are you sure uva doesn't require one of the maths? also a foreign lang is highly recommended as you can use it for exemption instead of waking up at 8am to take a placement test (even if youre taking the ap, you might as well, it kills 2 birds with 1 stone).

It may not matter anyway, as i've been looking at whats on the SATII's and it looks like MathII isn't that bad anyway (even for someone who doesn't love trig). I know they wont mind MathII and Lit

Thanks for the advise everyone

are you sure you wanna take lit when you spelled advice wrong.

Well, that'll lern me to spell gooder.

As for lit, it is a much better option for me than US History. Also, since I am not planning on applying to any schools engineering program I would rather not have two math-based subjects.

SAT2s are no longer required, just "strongly recommended". Because it isn't required, it won't count against you if you don't take it.

Let's be real, though: if a school you love strongly recommends that you do something, you should probably give it a shot.

If you're going to sign up for a few, take whatever subjects you think will help you. As you know, foreign language scores can help you place out of that requirement here, but you might also think about using them to supplement your transcript.

Let's say you want to be a science major and your biology teacher in HS is tough...former college professor, no joke in the lab, etc. You and your classmates are struggling to make Bs, but you know that material forwards and backwards. If you take the SAT2 in Bio and score very well, it might help supplement that bio score and make us see that you know your "stuff".

Thank you DeanJ, guess now I should start the studying :).
