I’m looking for review books for the ACT that correlate to the recent exams. I own the Prep Guide from the ACT but I feel that it doesn’t help because of the new format of the exam. Any Suggestions?
Right now I would use recent released tests from 2013/2014/2015 until a new book is available.
The exam has not changed all that much.
English is more or less the same. Potentially you may see one or two more style questions.
Reading-you may see a passage with two readings to compare, but the skills you need to do well are the same.
Science- test layout has changed. These changes went into effect last summer (2014). Data Representation (30-40%). 12-16 questions. Old distribution was 15 questions/3 passages. Same number of questions and timing is the same.
Math- Biggest change is number of trig questions. You could always count on 4, but now it can be 4-6. Also expect a few statistical/probabilty questions.
The red book is still very helpful for the multiple choice section because it has real ACT tests. So it is good place to start.
Do not use it for writing.
