Recommend but not require

There are some colleges like Duke and Washu that don't require subject tests, but they recommend them. But my friend who got accepted into Washu only took the SAT and ACT (no subject tests). So I don't really know what to do. I'm a pretty bad standardized test taker, and I think I can do decent on the ACT only, rather than the subject tests and the ACT. HELLPP!!

If I were you, I'd take the SAT IIs. Just take the subjects you're most comfortable with, and ones that you like most, that way studying won't be such a burden. It's good to have, since it's recommended, it will definitely increase your chances at acceptance if you do well. Plus, you may end up applying to some schools that DO require SAT IIs.

yeah i totally agree with ShanFan there..
