I am looking to visit Ohio State in the spring.
Would like a few hotel recommendations besides The Blackwell. Blackwell is already book the weekend I am thinking.

@superk25 - I am local to Columbus so I can assist with this question. Look at hotels at Easton, Hilton, holiday Inn etc. Easton area is in close proximity to airport and is right of highway connecting to Osu. Easton is quiet vibrant and safe
@dreamed does it make a difference if driving in?
Try SpringHill Suites on Olentangy River Road. I stay there while visiting my girls when I can’t get into the Blackwell. It is close to campus and a lot of OSU students work there.
Depends which way you are coming into Columbus @ superk25. You will find rooms availability easier if you go out a mile or two from the university area
I wholeheartedly second the SpringHill Suites on Olentangy River Road. It’s a new hotel and the staff there were extremely pleasant and friendly when we stayed in early April this year. I also got an amazing rate there via the Express Deals on Priceline.com. It should be the hotel that shows up when you search for University District, 3 star, 9+ rating.
Our daughter is currently an oos freshman. The Blackwell is our first choice but sometimes that’s hard to get. For orientation we stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Columbus OSU 3031 Olentangy River Road. We agree that this is a great place to stay. For parents weekend we stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Columbus/OSU, 1576 West Lane Avenue, which we liked even more. I always use Trip Advisor to see how people rate the different hotels and restaurants. It’s very helpful.
