Hey everyone. I've been searching for colleges a lot lately since I will be applying to them next year. I have a few I want to apply to, but I need some strong safety schools.

I've posted my stats here:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1497131-chance-me-suny-uconn-rutgers.html

Things I am looking for in a college:
- medium to large campus
- good college atmosphere
- preferably not in the inner cities
- most likely dorming so guaranteed dorming is preferred
- tuition range 10k-30k

If there's anything else please feel free to ask. I appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance.

What state do you live in? At least two of the places on your “chance me” list are out-of-state for you.

How much money is your family truly ready, willing, and able to pay each year? Will they pay that much for a fifth year if you need it to complete your degree? How do they feel about you taking student loans? How much money do they expect you to earn during vacations and the school year? Whatever that total comes to is the figure you need to stay under when comparing the posted Cost of Attendance at different college/university websites.

Since you already have several places that you like, ask your parents to sit down with you and run the Net Price Calculator at each website. Until you know that a college/university will be affordable for you, you can’t call it safe.

Have your parents said that they will pay up to $30k or are you guessing? Ask them to be sure.

What is your home state? Your state school will likely be your affordable choice depending on how much your parents will pay.
