I’ll ask my parents how much they will pay each

I second Rutgers and Rowan. Also take a look at your community colleges. Some have really amped up the Engineering offerings. Living at home and commuting could save money in the first few years.

Drexel and U of Pitt are worth a look.

Stevens is also worth a look. I am not sure of money for Stevens. The students I know there are girls and girls usually receive more in STEM fields.

Sit with your Mom and run the Net Price Calculators.

@Longhaul thanks for the help.

BTW my list before making this post was:
Virginia Tech
NC State University
Drexel
Rutgers
Carnegie Mellon
Cornell
Stevens
Lehigh
RPI
Johns Hopkins

I realize that a lot of these schools are reaches right now, but I plan on getting my test scores up in the fall. Do any of these schools qualify to you guys as safeties for me?

Carnigie, Lehigh and Johns Hopkins are huge academic reaches and may also come in too high cost.

I would run Net Price Calculators for all the schools.
If the numbers are too high, don’t apply. If the cost is a doable, then IMHO it is worth taking a chance on an academic reach. If it is too high, then knock the school off the list and focus on other applications.

If you an get the Math/CR up to 1350 then you will be in good shape for scholarships at Rowan <a href=“Home | Rowan | Rowan University”>Home | Rowan | Rowan University;
