recommendation envelopes?

Sorry, I read through the long recommendations thread above, but I couldn't find the answer to my question.

In the thread, I saw posts that says some schools require "printed" addresses. How do you do this? And do you put on your school's address on the envelope, and the teacher's name? (on the 'from' section)

Also, I read that the envelopes should be sealed and signed. Where does the signature go?

Sorry if these questions sound a little stupid, but I'm applying as an international, and I don't have anyone around me to ask these sort of questions.

Thanks in advance.

I think for printed addresses you'll need to get a label-making pack and print out the information on the label paper so you have these stickers to put on. I guess what you can also do is just print the addresses normally, cut them out, then tape/glue them on the envelope, lol. Actually that's pretty much what Stanford wants people to do. What schools actually require printed addresses, though? just wondering. o_o

The teacher's signature goes over the seal. The gist is that they'd know you haven't broken open the envelope to read the rec when you're not supposed to.

Thanks for the reply!
Yeah i was referring to stanford when i was talking about the printed address. I don't think I'm applying to stanford but I just read it in one of the threads that the school requires it. So I thought other schools might too.

Thanks!
