Recommendation for college admissions book?

I've just started thinking about the college admissions process and am already lost. Is there a good book out there that I can look at and use as a reference? What are the top books in this area? (My ultimate goal is to get into a top-20 school) Thanks for the help!

Internet. It's free and you can get about 100 times more info. Look at what site you're on. Ask away.

the endless book of CC

Fiske and The Insiders Guide (I think Yale publishes Insiders Guide) are very good and base reviews on interviews with students, so it isn't just a bunch of numbers.

I second these recommendations. Using them both together provides a pretty complete picture because Fiske focuses a lot more on academics while Insider's Guide focuses a lot more on social life.

"Admissions Matters" is a simple overview on the college search and admissions process.

Ditto lgm. Admission Matters was one of the best admission books I've read.
