<p>Im currently a sophomore and john hopkins is on my transfer list. One of my sociology professor graduated from Hopkins. Does it help to get a recommendation from him? Im taking his class and he knows me pretty well. </p>

<p>It’s what’s in the LOR, not who wrote it that counts. It’s you who’s transferring, not the prof.</p>
<p>It might help a bit. But not much. Make sure you are getting recommendations from the instructors who can write the best ones.</p>
