I have had a three-year job working in my mother's company.
I want to add a supplemental recommendation from this job because I feel that it certainly won't be harmful considering that I'm applying to a business school, however, is it okay for my mother to write it? I.e. Will the school not consider it because it may be viewed as a bias rec?

Schools are used to getting recs from parents from homeschoolers. My son asked a teacher to write a supplemental rec from the point of view of a satisfied client, not a teacher. I think that if your mother kept it to how you worked within the business, and left your good attitude at home out of the letter, it would be perfectly reasonable. IMO, the worst-case scenario is that they ignore it, not that they dump you for it.

Wait - does the company belong to your mother (my thinking when I wrote the above), or do you just work with her at the same company? If the latter, then you should get your supplemental rec from your boss, not your coworker.

Yes, my mother owns the company. Thanks GeekMom63! :)
