Someone is writing a recommendation for me who is an alumnus to one of the schools it will be sent to, but I dont know if he knows about how that kind of thing might help. So I dont know if he knows to indicate this in his recommendation. Should I email him and ask him to indicate this? Or should I figure that he already knows. If I should ask him to, then how should I go about asking him? Is he just supposed to sign the recommendation: "Name" Class of "year" or what?

anyone? bump

As an alumnus, he'll know exactly what to do. No need to pester him.

I think any alum will know how to indicate that he is an alum in his recommendation; I don't think you should be suggesting this to him. (To be frank, I'd find it offensive if someone did this to me).
