Recommendation from Art Teacher?

<p>Penn requires recs from teachers of academic subjects, but the recommendation form also states that “It is most helpful to us if this teacher is from a course that relates to your intended major or lies in an area of continuing interest for you.” </p>

<p>My intended major is art related, but could I submit a rec from my art teacher, even though it would not be from an “academic” subject?</p>

<p>Who says art isn't an academic subject? Art can be just as academic as math, english, etc. i would just make sure that your art teacher stresses your genuine intellectual interest in art. it'll be fine.</p>
