recommendation from language teacher = good or bad?

<p>ok so mit and caltech require that one recommendation comes from a science/math teacher and that the other comes from a humanities, social science, or language teacher</p>

<p>does a recommendation from a language teacher seem more trivial or less important than a rec from an english or social studies teacher? i want to ask my french teacher of 3 years because she knows me pretty well but my dad says it doesn't sound as good as a rec from a english or social studies teacher.. :/</p>

<p>I think it’s better to get a good rec from someone who knows you better than a mediocre one from someone who barely knows you.</p>
