Recommendation headache

I'm an intl undergraduate applicant. In Jan this year, immediately after i graduated i had already sought my counselor and teacher for recommendation letters to apply to local Unis. That means i already have existing letters of recomm.

Can i use them for my teacher and counselor evaluation in common app? I just need to scan them and my teacher will attach it to the online form. of coz those are dated Jan.

It's crazy to ask my teacher n counselor to write letters again. But the thing is i have already seen them ofcoz, so when i invite them, do i choose to waive my right or not?

can use or not? waive right or not?

pls someone help me!

Hi onggaku! When you go under the section for “school forms,” you can indicate whether you waive the right to see the recommendation or not. Your teachers will get an email about the recommendation, or most schools allow them to be mailed or faxed from your school. Good luck!

but wfva, sorry, maybe my message is unclear and vague. U see, 2 of my teachers wrote for me testimonials or recom letters that can be used to apply to anywhere, mostly i was using it for local scholarship applications. I possess them, i’ve seen them.

later on, i decided to try my luck in US. I can’t be asking the same teachers to write me another evaluation for my US application, can i? as they already have written for me the same things in those letters of recommendations i have.

so, i already have recommendations, i own them, and i don’t want to waste them and hassle my teachers again. so, waiving my right and say i will nvr them see them, is sort of …well a lie. but not waiving my right sends another message, like i don’t trust my teachers.

However, it just occurred to me, waiving my right to the whole school form might just make sense, as there are things to fill in about me other than the evaluation letter. so, i wont be seeing those short answers but i have seen those recommendations that are dated way back in march. one is hand written, the other bears a my principle’s signature and school stamp.
