I recently got rejected from UCI and I really think I should appeal. I checked on the UCI site and it says that for an appeal, I may have to send in a letter of recommendation. I talked to a couple of my teachers and they said they would write me one, all I would have to do is bring them the paperwork. What should I give them to write the letter? Should I use the common app one, or does UCI have its own? Thanks!

If any of this helps:

UC weighted GPA: About 3.6
SAT: 760 math, 650 writing, 650 english-2060 (got a 2050 on my previous one, if that helps)
SAT II: 700 US History
AP tests: 5 Macroeconomics, 4 Microeconomics, 3 US History
Extracurriculars: Director of a charity my friends and I started
Volunteer hours: 140 hours coaching basketball at the YMCA

I know my extracurriculars and GPA were a little bit weak, but I know some people who got 3.4s and 3.5s with even weaker extracurriculars who got accepted. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

It’s hard to believe you were rejected from UCI…
You should definitely appeal. Does your school not have its own letter of recommendation form? If it doesn’t, then you should use the one from common app. (Sorry, I’m not a college expert so I could be wrong). But I don’t think UCI has its own LOR form so yeah… the best thing to do would be to use common app’s. Make sure to check with your school. It should have its own form… o.o

I checked my school website and I couldn’t find anything. I’ll just use the common app form. Thanks!
