Recommendation letter for college?

Its the summer before my senior year and Ive been thinking about the college admissions process. I know you need to have letters of recommendation but I literally have not made any connections with any of my teachers. I almost dont even talk to my teachers ever. I just sit in class and take notes. A lot of my teachers also ignore me. I dont say hi to them. Can I get a letter of rec from middle school teachers? Religious sunday school teachers? My old high school teachers from my old high school that was in Saudi Arabia junior year?
The only thing holding me back from getting into good colleges would be not being able to get a good rec letter, and Ive never done any EC’s or volunteering. I have high ACT scores and a high GPA (im a hf aspie).

Old high school teachers from your junior year seems perfectly fine to me. Middle school teachers are really a stretch though, as even teachers from freshman and sophomore year can be a stretch. Religious school teachers could be fine unless the school specifically wants a core subject teacher. My advice is to try your best to make a connection with your teachers senior year. I knew a few people who got letters of rec from teachers they just met their senior year.

Ill try my best to make connections with my senior year teachers
Would it be awkward to ask a teacher whom you havent made a connection with to write a rec letter?

Well you don’t really need to make a serious connection with a teacher to get a good letter of rec. As long has he or she can say positive things about you and knows you well enough to write a brief letter about why you’re a good student, asking for a letter of rec should be perfectly fine.

Depending on your definition of a good college, there may be a lot more than grades or test scores that will determine your chances of admission.

Well, like I said, Im not worried about getting a good rec letter. Im having trouble just to get any teacher to even write a rec letter for me. And I honestly think none of my current teachers have anything positive to say about me. I just take notes in class and do well. I never participate in discussions or anything like that. Im a very methodical and conscientious person but thats all.

Im not talking about Harvard or Yale but I want to go to a pretty good STEM college. MIT is my dream but its definitely out if I dont have any EC’s. My reach schools would be UIUC, SDSU, Northwestern, or UW Madison and I hope to get a large amount of scholarship money.
