Recommendation letter not sent??

<p>I asked a recommendation letter from my physics teacher about a month ago. Today it shows that it still has not been started yet, and this teacher is known for giving back tests like 3 weeks later, losing homework, and starting things late. The only reason I asked this teacher because he was the one that chose me for an excellent student award in Science(one student every department, math, foreign languages etc.) </p>

<p>I have already sent him an email reminding him last week, the deadline is getting closer and I am getting really worried he forgot. I heard that schools are lenient when it comes to rec letters.. I don't think he checks his emails, so I am planning on asking him in person when winter break is over, which is jan 8th, is that too late for him to send it in?? The school I am applying for is Uchicago. </p>

<p>Just stay on top of it. One of the teachers that I asked for a recommendation did the same thing. I just kept asking her about it.</p>
