im planning of applying Ed to cornell in fall.
I plan on getting letter of rec. from 2 teachers, and my counselor, but i'm close with a woman who went to cornell undergrad and grad about 10 yrs ago. , should i get her to send a letter as well, and would it make any difference?

if she knows you well and can say insightful positive things yes it will help. She should submit an alumni evaluation through the alum site of cornell I believe. Or she can just write a letter but the "alumni reports" as a believe they are called are the standard format. It will not carry much weight in your decision. Just don't do anything stupid like like get the senator you met once to write you a rec ;)
