I know that teachers only need to upload their letter of recommendation once. However, I am confused on whether their letter gets uploaded to just the common app or the specific college I assigned them to. For example, if one of my teachers uploads his letter and I only currently have him assigned to one college, then when I later assigned him to other colleges, will his letter simply be submitted to those colleges as well? Any explanation will help.
When I write a letter, here’s what happens:
- I write the letter on school letterhead, include my signature, and save it on my computer.
- I submit a hard copy to guidance.
- Sometime after Aug 1, I upload it to the student's Common App account. I then fill out the checklist of questions for each student.
That’s it. My letter goes to each of the schools to which he has applied.
