Hi. So I'm in sort of a complicated situation. I graduated in '08.. Went to grad school for a year but hated it and decided I wanted to change careers. I was originally an art history major, now I am seeking a 2nd degree in chemistry. I am trying to find internships, but everything requires a recommendation letter. Since I have been out of undergrad for a few years now, I don't have any more of my contacts there. I'm not even sure if the professors who wrote my recommendation letters for graduate school would even remember me, but even if they did I think it would be pointless to have an art history professor write a recommendation letter for a science based internship.

The other problem is, and without getting into a long story for WHY i did this (just assume it was all for good reasons)...but I have taken 1 semester worth of courses at 1 school, summer school at a different school, and another semester worth of courses at my current school. lots of hopping around!

On top of that, I am the type of person the never seeks the professors help or goes to office hours (I'm painfully shy).

So now, I find that I have absolutely noooooo one to ask for a recommendation letter. I pretty much have A's in every single science course I have taken, but the professors don't know me.

What should I do?

Would a professor write a recommendation letter for a student who got an A in his class, but doesn't necessarily actually KNOW.??

There is a summer internship I want to apply to and the deadline for the application is March 1. And I'm so bummed because I just need 1 recommendation letter and I have no one to ask :( :( :(
