I was thinking about doing a study abroad my junior year and I have a deep interest in international relations & politics. This program would be perfect for me! However, I am aiming for top schools and I want a good letter of recommendation. Will my teachers abroad be able to sign up for CommonApp and submit a recommendations for me? I know this may vary by school but in general are international teachers able to make a recommendation letter through CommonApp? Thank you!
Yes, they can. The how part will vary by school.
As long as the teacher has an email address, internet access, etc., the “can they” part would be yes.
I’d be sure the teacher understands what the letter is, how it’s used, what’s expected to be in it, etc., and that the teacher can compare an effective letter in English.
If so, then it’s a valid option.
