Okay, I'm going to ask my teachers and counselor for recommendation letters very soon and I need some help. I recently bought many 9x12 manila envelopes but I need to know whether I have to give them out to each teachers and counselor or if I can just tell them to put all of their letters into one file for each college. So, is it possible for the teachers to put the teacher and counselor forms and letters in one envelope?

Also, I've heard that two stamps are required when using manila envelopes? Is this correct? Where do I put the stamps, college address, and return address? Sorry, I'm really new at this so please help me! By the way, how many days will it take for the colleges to receive the letters "if" the teachers mail it tomorrow? (outside U.S.)

Unless your school requests that you do it otherwise, you should give each teacher and guidance counselor his or her own envelopes. If it's not part of the usual protocol, it's much too likely that a recommendation might not make it into the envelope, or that everything might be late because one piece didn't get there in time, etc. If each individual is responsible only for him or herself, you're much better off.

You put the college's admissions office address on the front, your school's address as the return. Stamps in the upper right-hand corner.

It is two stamps to mail the envelope within the US. I don't know how much it costs to mail the envelope internationally. Go to your local post office or whatever they call it where you are and ask them.

No, you don't need 9x12 envelopes unless the school specifically says so (like Stanford). Most schools don't care, and business size envelopes do just fine.
