Hello! I'm new to this particular thread.

I know UChicago requires a science teacher, and I'm having one write a recommendation specically for UC because she teaches chemistry.

However, my other two teachers (social science and English) already submitted their letters because they are my primary ones for my other applications. Should I contact the office or my regional admissions officer or just send in the required science recommendation without saying anything?

Thank you!:)

the latter...I sent three in (1 English, 1 history, 1 chemistry) and I think that's alright..

but which ones did you choose as your primary ones?

primary? was it specified somewhere that we had to designate two as "primary" recommendations?

on the common app yeah. Because U of Chicago says it requires one english/social studies and one math/science, so I made those two my primary recommendations, and I sent in my other recommendation through the mail as a supplement recommendation

But honestly, I think U of Chicago will check all the letters given to them.

ah...I didn't do it online..

yeah if you're using common app, you can choose to send it by mail, but you still have to go to Teacher Forms and fill out which teachers are sending recs by mail and you have to make sure to indicate them as "offline providers".

That's what I did, and common app gives me a message saying, "This teacher or counselor has opted to send the form by mail" or something like that
