You actually write the rec letters yourself? That's very odd. I thought at most international schools the recs are written in their respective languages and then translated into English (either by the student or by a bilingual teacher). As for samples, I doubt anyone has any because almost everyone signs the statement on the form which states that you may never read the letter. It's supposed to be strictly confidential.

Really .. ?

Does it go on in this way

I requested them from the principal and she told me to write them by myself

thought i would get samples :( !

but thanks anyway

Will ask once again

NO one can write me a sample or show me what is important in that !!!!

No one writes recs themselves! How can you write about your teacher's impression of you and all? Moreover you need about 3 recs and they would all turn out too similar anyway. Secondly, writing recs yourself would be cheating in the eyes of the AOs. AOs can spot the similarity in style between your college app essay and your recs.
Just get your teachers to write in your native language and get your english teacher to translate.

another suggestion ... ask your principal or guidence counselor to call a couple US colleges in which you are interested about the issue. The schools will tell them that they do not want the student to write the recommendation, what they would like to see in a recommendation, and suggest ideas about the language issue. None of this will be new information but having the school tell them you should not write the recommendation will help get them to do it.

Yes. And if you need samples, try searching under google.com for "recommendation letters" - college or high school or college admissions. There should be a few sites that give instructions to teachers on how to write recommendation letters. If you find such information, print it out for your teacher and hopefully your school will be able to help you. Good luck! :)

Oh thanks alot alll

but simply .. no english teacher at school .. we dotn learn english "OG"

i will try to search any ways

ONE MORE THING

princeton have a seperate application for teacher refrences .. does this mean that I cannot attach the refrences I have with the application.
It will be stamped and signed and get authenticated ..
and I will be leaving school this yr .. n apply for 2006 entry ..
Oh man something horrible :(

You could translate it yourself--my teachers mostly let me see the letters to make sure there were no mistakes, like when I had their classes and things. Did not realize that wasn't allowed. The teachers should be the ones writing them though. If your teachers really refuse to write them, and just want to sign a letter, get a different friend to write each one, from a teacher's point of view and with as much detail about you as a student as possible. There is no way I'd try to write them myself. If you still need a sample letter, PM me and I can probably send one.
You should call the college and ask what to do about hte language problem.
