How important are professor recommendations? I have a very strong GPA and my lsat scores are pretty good- the problem is my LORs. I need 2 for a few of the schools I am applying to and 3 for a few. I have one very good one from the department chair of my major (who I've had as a professor). However, in general I was never close with my professors so I'm very worried about my other two letters as I just chose 2 professors that I thought were reliable and could write well. Neither of these two know me very well they just know I did well in their classes. I also just realized one of the two has a fairly low rank as a professor- does this mean I should get one more letter? Thank you.

The rank of the professor won’t be a problem.

LOR are a minor part of the application, more a formality than a necessary tool of evaluation. Exceptional ones can boost an applicant, but ordinary ones are unlikely to bring an applicant down at most schools.

Having one very good one is a lot more than most students, so you should be in good shape.
