Is it okay to ask a professor from a dual-enrollment class for a (high school) summer program recommendation? Would it be a bad idea to ask for a recommendation if I never went to office hours and they only know me because I participated in their class a lot? Am I giving them enough time if I ask a month in advance?

Anyone???

Personally, I wouldn’t; unless you’ve interacted with your professor excessively.

But, you can.

I don’t see why not…first ask if they are comfortable writing you a rec…that will give them an out if they really don’t feel they know you well enough. If they agree I’m sure they can comment favorably on your participation and grades-although from the date of your question I assume you either have or haven’t already asked…how did it go?
