Quick question: if I assign a prof as my academic evaluator on the common app, will they be able to see all the schoo that I’m applying to? Or is that confidential? I’m thinking of adding a school or two to my list but did not discuss them with my profs first.
Okay—rephrase.
I am applying to multiple schools. If I assign my academic evaluator for one school, will I be able to use that recommendation for all of the schools if I then assign her to the rest of the schools? Will she get an email every time she is assigned to a school? Will she only have the name of the first school or will she be able to look at every school I have assigned her to?
I found this much easier to deal with through Naviance in high school, haha.
This question came to my mind as well so I’ll bump this for you.
Bump. very freaked out abt this
Here’s what someone answered on the Admissions board:
“It would just say in her email “Timidnotion asked you for a recommendation!” and it will only show once. Assigning her to multiple schools neither shows nor sends multiple emails.”
Okay, I set up a dummy account to see what happens. @timidnotion @strandedinhell
If I assign my academic evaluator for one school, will I be able to use that recommendation for all of the schools if I then assign her to the rest of the schools? --> Yes.
Will she get an email every time she is assigned to a school? --> Nope
Will she only have the name of the first school or will she be able to look at every school I have assigned her to? --> Once you ‘assign’ her to the school, she will be able to see the school’s name in her dashboard. So if you don’t want her to know, just assign her to one school first, then assign her to the other schools you don’t want to let her know after she’s completed the evaluation.
Thank you, @ivyleaguefan! That’s comforting.
