Hey everyone! I have a problem with my letters of recommendation, and I need some advice. Most of the schools I'm applying to require two 11th or 12th grade teachers. I already have one teacher with whom I'm really close, and I know she'll write a good recommendation. When I went to ask my other teacher today, though, she told me that she ended up with too many last year (over 30) and that she said she didn't want to do any this year. However, she also said that she was rethinking it and to wait a week until she decided. I don't know what to do! With the rate that teachers at my school "fill up" their quota for letters, if she said no in a week there's a chance I could lose all my other teachers. I was thinking about simply asking another teacher, but I have problems there, too. The teacher I would ask set a limit for herself at 25 kids, and I have been told by my friends that she already reached that number. She seemed set in that number, but some people have told me that she might be willing to stretch it a bit because we're very close. On the other hand, I don't want to be disrespectful and put extra work on her plate, and I'm concerned about the attention my recommendation would get with 25 other letters on her plate. I have another teacher I could ask, but she's not a core teacher, which I hear is best (she's my Theory of Knowledge teacher, a required class for IB). She's a little kooky, but nice, and I think she would write me a good rec. Sorry for all of this, but the situation is driving me crazy! Thank you for your help!
