ok so i'm having trouble deciding between 2 teachers that i want to ask for my letter (1 is already set)

teacher 1: i had in 10th grade, and have been involved in her club and am now an officer of the club. i was obnoxious however, during her class in 10th grade but i passed her exam and was the smartest one in the class.

teacher 2: i had him in 10th grade and plain and simple he lets the student write the letter and he signs it so should i just do that so i can write whatever i want?

Why decide between the 2? Unless your colleges only ask for 1, then you should ask them both for letters for more diversity and thoroughness in your recommendations.

well i already have 1 which i haven’t mentioned in here because she’s definitely one of the two i want. all the college i’m applying two mandate 2 letters.

Do you really feel like writing ANOTHER essay for college? If you do, then I guess you could do the second teacher… but I personally wouldn’t do that. I would have no idea what to write about. I would pick the first teacher and ask her if she could focus on the good things about you and not the bad things - if you were the best student in her class I doubt she would write about you being obnoxious anyway. It’s a college recommendation and I really don’t think she would be so cruel as to talk badly about you.

I agree, unless she specifically commented on your bad behavior in her class, I’d go for her as well. I’m sure that teacher has much more experience writing recommendation esays than you do ;).
