Recommendations for First Year Seminars

Anyone have a recommendation for a FY Seminar that was particularly interesting? Any subject matter is fine. Thanks.

For fall or winter semester?

For this coming winter semester.

Also, can a student take to FY Seminars?

Yes, you can. I am taking two this semester. If you want a really intellectually stimulating class, I would recommend taking Comparative Lit 140 with Tatjana Aleksic. It's better than Great Books.

Oops-spelling error (typo) in y last post. Can a student take TWO FY Seminars?

KrazyWorks, what is your other seminar? I am asking on behalf of my D who doesn't love reading. Since she has Lit 124 next semester, it may be more reading than she would like.

My other one is Philosophy 196: Free Will and Moral Responsibility. The class discussions get pretty deep mainly into abstracts. But I find it rewarding because it makes me think of my own beliefs.
