Ugh, ran out of time to edit – Columbia would be another true reach. Can’t believe I forgot it…
Funny that I thought I had reaches and safeties but it turns out I could add both to my list. Thanks again @privatebanker and @prezbucky for putting together your responses. It really helps since it’s hard for me to be objective. I can’t wait until next year at this time when I’ll know where I’m going and what I’m doing. I appreciate everyone pointing me in the right direction.
Good luck. Excited for your opportunities. @prezbucky is always excellent with her analysis. Keep up the good work and enjoy the summer.
I’m the guy in the photo, but thanks @privatebanker.
Sorry :-??
I just wanted to say thank you again to @privatebanker and @prezbucky for the help this summer and to let you know you gave good advice. So far I got into Madison and MN-TC, really nice scholarships at Miami of Ohio (UASP), Wooster, and Lawrence and deferred EA at CWRU. I decided not to apply to Tulane, Lehigh or Brandeis after visiting those schools because I liked Case Western and Madison a lot better. I also applied to McGill, BU and Carleton but I followed your advice and it’s ok if they say no because so far every choice is around the same price as Madison and I like them. It’s nice of you guys to spend the time to help students out. Happy holidays.
Wow. Madison and Minnesota already. That’s awesome. If I had a chance to go to UW , I would have in a flash.
Other great options Wooster and Miami of Ohio with scholarship money. Fantastic.
McGill . BU Carleton and CWRU In RD could definately happen too.
I would be most surprised if McGill wasn’t an acceptance for you. A word to the wise - McGill is a “make it or break it” approach. Some like that survival of the fittest method but some people want a little more of a backstop and support in the transition year or two.
BU can be funny in admissions.
Carleton is tough.
Good luck with all. But you should already be proud of your accomplishments and happy you have so many great choices.
I am sorry to amend. I think you will be a solid candidate at Carleton. I was thinking of Claremont. That consortium can be very picky.
