Recommendations for transferring to a NE business school

Hi all,

I'm originally from the northeast and started college in Cali, it's into my sophmore year, I'm getting very homesick and would like to move back.

Stats:
Current School: USC - Marshall (starting 2nd year)
GPA: 3.2
Activities: none, aside from my part-time job in the school of business itself
Recs: (i expect them to be great per comment of the prof whom I requested)

HS GPA: 3.8 (weighted)
SAT I's:
Math: 780
Verbals: 610
Writing: 630

SAT II's:
Math 2C: 700
Chem: 630
U.S History: 730

APs:
Calc BC: 3 (subscore 4)
Chem & Physics B: 4
World History: 5
English Composition & U.S history: 3

BU is on the top of my list right now (was accepted as a freshmen), but i'd like to get more options in? What schools would u recommend? BC? Do I have a shot at Georgetown?

If i get maintain at least an A- (I don't have high hopes for getting a 4.0 due to the grading curve here) for all my classes this semester and be more active in business clubs, would i have a shot at NYU Stern?

Also, coming from a relatively selective business school and having taken business classes, will that give me an advantage over other applicants?

Thanks a million for helping me!

Don't worry about the 4.0. Being from a strong school will definitely strengthen your application. Being more active in whatever clubs (business or anything that interests you) might help your app and might help with the homesickness, too ;).

I think the recs are the key along with showing an indepth knowledge of the school(s) where you'd like to transfer and how they fit. EG, what aspect of business are you interested in? If entrepreneurial, maybe add a Babson or a Bentley to your list (although I haven't checked their transfer acceptance rates).

Listen man...you got into Marshall. I applaud you for that.

All those schools should be pretty easy to get into. Aside from recommendations, join some business clubs. If not, make your own! You'll automatically be founder/president. Get your activities on top. The number one thing you want to show a college is that you can maintain high grades while you participate with others. It doesn't mean much if you come back and just study...that's too easy.

Good luck!

thnx for your comments guys,

As for your question Andale, I'm not exactly sure about which aspect of business i'd like to go into yet.
